Our story
Hi, I'm David.
I'm a photographer.
I built Framd because every platform I used disappointed me.
The platforms I used were built by people who'd never shot a session in their life.
I've been a photographer for years. Weddings, portraits, events. You name it, I've shot it. And for years, I paid subscription after subscription to platforms that treated me like a number.
“We'll delete your client galleries if you cancel.”
That one hit me hard. A client called three years after their wedding, wanting to re-download photos for an anniversary print. I'd let my subscription lapse on one of the platforms. The gallery was gone. The photos weren't — I had them — but explaining that to a client is a conversation I never want to have again.
“We take 15% of every booking.”
I set my rates carefully. I know what my time is worth. Watching 15% of every booking disappear into a platform that never touched a camera felt wrong. Photographers already work incredibly hard for our money.
“Your feed is ranked by an algorithm.”
So the work that gets seen isn't the best work — it's the most engaged work. It rewards posting constantly over shooting well. That's backwards.
So I built the platform I always wanted.
Built BY photographers.
FOR photographers.
No commission. Ever.
Your rate is your rate. Framd earns from subscriptions — not a cut of your work. When you charge $2,000 for a wedding, you keep $2,000. That's how it should always have been.
Your work is safe. Always.
We never delete photographer work. Cancel and your galleries go into a paused state — not deleted. Reactivate anytime and everything is exactly as you left it. Your client from 5 years ago can still reach you.
No algorithm. Chronological. Quality-gated.
The feed is chronological. Work earns its place through community vetting — real photographers scoring real technical criteria. Not likes, not followers, not paid placement.
Built for the whole business.
Booking, contracts, invoices, questionnaires, galleries, CRM, email templates — everything a professional photographer needs to run their business without six different subscriptions.
Video is first-class.
Videographers and hybrid photographers deserve the same platform. Framd supports full video delivery via Cloudflare Stream — highlight films, ceremony videos, all of it — in the same gallery as your photos.
The founder is still here.
And he'll DM you back.
I'm not running this from behind a wall of customer support tickets and chatbots. If you have a problem, a feature idea, or just want to talk shop about gear — DM me.
I built Framd because I was the customer. I understand what you need because I've needed it. And I'm committed to keeping it that way as this grows.
We don't use chatbots. We use real photographers.
The community keeps it honest.
The Framd feed isn't just a portfolio wall. Every photo earns its spot through community vetting — real photographers scoring 4 technical criteria anonymously. Focus, exposure, composition, post-processing. Style is never a reason to reject. Quality is.
This is what I call the HOA model. The community maintains the standard. Not an algorithm. Not a team of moderators. The people who know photography best — other photographers — make the call.
And the show — “Get Framd or Get Cropped” — is how we make that process visible. It builds the brand. It educates clients on what quality photography looks like. And it gives photographers honest, structured feedback on their work.
Get Framd or Get Cropped
The show where photography gets judged by the people who know it best.
Submit your work. Face the community. If it makes the cut, it gets Framd. If not, you get real feedback and one appeal. That's the standard we're all held to.
Submit your workThis is your platform.
We're just maintaining it for you.
Other platforms see you as a customer. We see you as a colleague. The founder is a photographer who'll DM you back.
